“Teachers on our campus are armed with more than pea-shooting carry guns.”
General Stonewall Jackson once said, “My religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. Captain, that is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave.”
As Christians, we strive to make our children dangerous in every way to the enemy and the powers of darkness as we build the Kingdom and influence culture. Part of our task at KCCS is to protect students while they are under our care. The world who hates God continues on their downward spiral, and we know that things may grow more difficult before they ultimately get better. And they will get better. This is part of the reason we started KCCS and work diligently, giving ourselves, every day. We want to prepare our children to be faithful and bold witnesses in this present darkness as we continue to take dominion here and now in Christ’s Kingdom that cannot be shaken.
In the first place, we pray and trust our Heavenly Father to protect us in His perfect providence. This isn’t a cop-out. We know and trust that not one hair can fall from our heads apart from our Father’s will. We recognize that if an evil person was intent to do harm on our campus, no person could stop that evil intention, however, we have our own lethal counter-measures and effective protocols in place if God-forbid, such an event were to occur. (Of course we will not be publicly disclosing all of that information.)
Suffice it to say our eyes are up. Our doors are locked. And teachers on our campus are armed with more than pea-shooting carry guns. We are mentally and physically prepared to protect students in our care at all costs. We will not hesitate. We will run to where the roar of the lion is and we will give our very lives, just like we already are, for the sake of Christ’s Kingdom and glory. We join with the apostle Paul who said, “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” SDG.
